PADI Adv. Mermaid Certification Retreat

Service Description

Join the Seattle Mermaid School's weekend long certification retreat! Price includes access to TSMS's camping itinerary, skill building workshops, and our PADI Mermaid Certification course. In the PADI Advanced Mermaid™ course, you'll build on your PADI Mermaid™ certification and apply it to the open water environment. You'll learn the basics of how the open water environment differs from a pool or confined water (larger, deeper, more variable conditions) and be introduced to open water mermaiding techniques. You'll also learn about aquatic life – what to expect, how it can affect you, and how you avoid harm. To enroll in the PADI Advanced Mermaid course you must be 12 years old or older and have a PADI Mermaid certification (or a qualifying certification from another mermaid organization). You need to be able to swim at least 100m/320ft without swim aids, able to float comfortably at the surface for at least 10 mins and in good physical health. Like the PADI Basic and Mermaid Certification courses, the PADI Advanced Mermaid Certification will only be issued upon successful completion of all required class material. Refunds will not be issued to students that are unable to complete the required class material during the retreat. Students are required to provide the following gear: Towel, swimsuit, change of clothes, water bottle, mask, bi-fins, snorkel, wetsuit for open water training. Extras will not be provided by your instructor. Students are required to quality check their own equipment. Cancellations due to missing gear or gear malfunction will not be accepted. The following gear is suggested by your instructor for quality of life improvements while experiencing the retreat: mask defog, water socks, yoga mat for tail protection against the elements, pen and paper for classroom portion, "fancy" mermaid outfit for content creation Mermaid tails, monofins, weights, and weight belts will be provided by your instructor.
